A Pack (Poem)

It's been more than 18 months, since I wrote this poem. These words are an end-to-end description about those people who made the most important part of my college days and, when the end was nearing I thought of capturing that which I could.

Dedicated to the best college mates I could have had ....

A Pack

First time I stepped out on my own,
to live a life that was still unknown,
couldn't predict the journey I would undertake,
couldn't imagine what kinda friends I would make.

HMR was the place, where our pack started,
when beside me Sharma Ritika farted,
O' Sweety, the word was just to create rhyme,
accept my apology for this frivolous crime.
Your perfectionism is what we admire,
your cute, loving nature is someone else’s desire.
The days we spent in were a true bliss,
we made up for what in school did we miss.
I could have never imagined we would make it this long!
talking, walking, sharing and smiling all along,
Till when will it last? I'm not sure,
All I know is that our bond is pristine and pure.

BPIT was destined to happen,
so was I, bound to fatten.
Pallavi is a friend turned traitor,
Ohh boy, I'll show you my curves sooner or later!
On a serious note, you are a part of me,
the points of intersection are so many,
agonizing over organizing, you've catered our needs,
you know what, you're loved for all your deeds.
I could have never imagined we would make it this long!
talking, walking, sharing and reading all along,
Till when will it last? I'm not sure,
All I know is that our bond is pristine and pure.

Fourth in our pack is Ankit Jain,
who has shared our journey through different terrains,
cute, decent and sweet is how he is,
always engrossed in finding himself a miss!
Okay, that's a normal thing to do,
and a sweet heart like you deserves the best one, too.
I could have never imagined we would make it this long!
talking, walking, sharing and making you wait outside the loo all along,
Till when will it last? I'm not sure,
All I know is that our bond is pristine and pure.

Now is the time for our drama queen,
who has recently found herself a king.
Sakshi has to teach something, Mr. Jain,
follow her footsteps or single shall you remain.
Sakshi, you are the spice that's a must in any dish,
your king in his sleep blew you a kiss,
I hope I'm not going to get killed for this,
the prank is just to triumph in bliss.
I could have never imagined we would make it this long?
talking, walking, sharing and waiting for you, all along,
Till when will it last? I'm not sure,
All I know is that our bond is pristine and pure.

LOL, is what describes him at his best,
buddhu is what he's assumed by the rest,
Void without main(),
always worried about the hairs which on his head remains,
Ashutosh K. Gupta is what he's called,
he's always scared , of getting bald.
I must tell you, you need not worry,
because I love you more than, chicken curry.
I could have never imagined we would make it this long?
talking, walking, sharing and complaining, all along,
Till when will it last? I'm not sure,
All I know is that our bond is pristine and pure.

The best is always saved for the end,
together we've re-defined so many trends,
soul-sister, is what you are,
in the hovering dark sky, a lone shining star.
Shruti is deciding on finding herself a mate,
and don't you forget to thank the GATE!
I wish words were enough to describe the time spent,
the time we won't, ever repent.
I could have never imagined we would make it this long?
talking, walking, sharing and discussing philosophy, all along,
Till when will it last? I'm not sure,
All I know is that our bond is pristine and pure.

A glorious journey is what it has been,
I love you all in a way, unseen.
I'll miss all the deeds we've done together,
but more than that, I'll miss you all.
I believe our bond will extend beyond forever,
because, a pack is meant to stay together.

I'm in a habit of writing lengthy poems,
so bear with me and hear what I say,
“Incomplete is the description of this pack,
for I'm still outside the shack,
but I won't take up the job this time,
produce something for me, create a rhyme,
six separate papers is what I need,
only then will you all, be able to satiate my insatiable greed."

And please! I was not so funny...

I am sure everyone will agree about you,

Die hard romantic is best to describe you.

There are so many feelings to share

But I conclude early to save time of blogosphere

Awesome is the word that describe these lines,

Love you! is all I want to say with a cheers of wine.
